SeniVR aims to shed light on Perak’s creative scene and community through a virtual reality-powered collaborative space.
IPOH – To shed light on Perak’s creative scene and community, Yayasan TM and Actsugi collaborated with The Ipoh Fine Art Class to showcase the local artistic talents in SeniVR, a virtual reality-powered collaborative space.
The virtual art exhibition offers a dedicated digital venue which provides a captivating digital art experience and supports Ipoh city’s creative community.
Through SeniVR, art lovers have an innovative way to discover and interact with the artworks, from the comfort of their homes. They can seamlessly explore the spaces and click to read the information displays about the artwork. The e-commerce feature enables art enthusiasts to purchase and own one-of-a-kind art pieces, no matter where they are in the world.
This collaboration was unveiled in “From Artist House”, a student exhibition which ran from 20 to 29 October 2023 at 22 Hale Street Museum and Art Gallery. The platform gives talented individuals an online channel to present their creations, as well as the opportunity to sell their artwork.
“It is an honour to be working with Actsugi and Yayasan TM who have been instrumental in making this exhibition a success. These shows, not only, give aspiring artists the opportunity to display and sell their work but we are able to help those most in need within the community as well by raising money,” said Abdul Kareem bin Jaafar Azzuddin, founder of The Ipoh Fine Art Class.
“I am grateful to be a part of such creative projects, and I hope to do more of these creative ventures to improve the lives of those in my community through art.”
“From Artist House” in SeniVR features 51 artworks by 30 aspiring artists from all walks of life, from the ages of 8 up to 80 years old.
The introduction of SeniVR in Ipoh comes in time with the Ipoh City Council’s focus towards gaining recognition for the city as a UNESCO Creative City, under The UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
“SeniVR gives local creatives, be it from big cities or small towns, an effective platform to share their artistic talents and voices. By helping the wider community to adopt virtual reality, we hope to bring Malaysia up to speed with other countries who are leveraging on immersive technologies to promote their creative industries,” said Rachael Lum, Co-Founder of Actsugi.
SeniVR currently hosts 5 virtual exhibitions that features around 60 experienced and young artists, while gathering valuable insights through data analytics. It is also set to allow people to see the artwork in their room through the upcoming Augmented Reality feature.
“From Artist House” is available for viewing in SeniVR until 31 December 2023.
