We turned Sarawak Energy's story about their past, present and future into an interactive 360° virtual gallery. Now we uncover the intricacies of this virtual experience.

Sarawak Energy approached us with their brilliant idea to create a digitally-rendered virtual gallery, in line with their 100th anniversary and Centenary Townhall event. As Borneo’s leading vertically integrated power utility developer, their 3D exhibition needed a solid platform and interactive storytelling features to represent their sustainable initiatives and digital innovation.

With this vision in mind, our team fashioned a 3D interactive exhibition that allows visitors to delve into Sarawak Energy's past, present and future initiatives in sustainable energy.

3D Interactive Exhibition with a Virtual Avatar

Our team conceptualised and designed the virtual gallery from scratch, taking care to ensure that the 4K renders are as realistic as possible. We directed our attention towards the interplay of brightness and balance within the overall ambient lighting. This mirrors the essence of Sarawak Energy's ambition - to become a renewable energy powerhouse.

When you first enter the gallery, a virtal avatar stands ready to welcome visitors. Modelled after an indigenous receptionist, she strategically appears in different sections of the virtual gallery to introduce Sarawak Energy’s roles and aspirations in powering the state.

3 Galleries: Past, Present and Future

Within this virtual realm, there are three main galleries. The first gallery, titled "100 Years of Powering Sarawak", weaves together the historical tapestry of Sarawak Energy and its transformative journey since the 1920s.

The second space, entitled "Powering Sarawak: Delivering Sustainable Growth", explores the ongoing works in sustainable energy as well as their resounding commitment towards corporate social responsibility.

The final gallery, "Energising Sarawak and Beyond: A Regional Green Ambition", features a more futuristic design. The pod-like form offers a visual testament to Sarawak Energy's visionary aspirations. The spotlight is cast on the company's regional green ambitions and their dedication to powering the state and beyond.

As you navigate the virtual gallery, you can click on the icons in the gallery, read the info pop ups and have a closer look at the narratives and images. In other words, you can explore it the way you would a physical gallery or museum, from the comfort of home.

Lights, Motion, Action!

Why limit visitors to browsing on their own, when there are endless possibiliities in presenting the information? Within the gallery, you're not just browsing, you're engaging. The journey is orchestrated by different dynamic media, such as images, text, and videos. Take the Electrication section, for instance. A motion graphic video uses an electrifying concept to bring out the company’s outreach and rural initiative efforts.

You can also find an e-book publication that highlights the company’s steadfast commitment to sustainability.

Just as Sarawak Energy aspires to power the state with renewable energy, we were keen to power this immersive experience and highlight their historical legacy, thus mirroring their commitment to progress and sustainability.

The Official Launch of Sarawak Energy Virtual Gallery

Coinciding with the Centenary Townhall of Sarawak Energy, the virtual gallery was officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg. The event was also live streamed to 19 locations in Sarawak.
