KUALA LUMPUR, 2 APRIL 2023 – With the aim of supporting the nation's creative industry, Yayasan TM in partnership with Actsugi, a company that utilizes virtual tour technology to empower businesses through immersive technologies and interactive storytelling, will be bringing its first virtual reality-powered collaborative space SeniVR to Muzium Telekom Kuala Lumpur. The objective of SeniVR is to provide support for local artists through hybrid exhibitions and events.

Ainol Shaharina Sahar, Director of Yayasan TM, launched SeniVR for its first hybrid exhibition "Seni Ekpresi Autisma" (SESAMA), which was held at Muzium Telekom for World Autism Awareness Day. SESAMA exhibition presents works by artists participating in the WE & I Arts Initiative in both the physical and virtual galleries of the Muzium Telekom through SeniVR platform. The virtual art gallery also complements NakSeni’s physical flagship store located at Muzium Telekom. Visitors can enjoy and purchase the artwork of local artists at the physical exhibition at SESAMA 2023, or explore the collaborative cyberspace at SeniVR online platform.

Speaking at the launch event, Ainol said "The SeniVR platform aims to increase public awareness about local visual artists who could benefit from greater exposure via this digital platform while encouraging more people to recognize their talent."

"We are hoping that the work we are doing here will help us create a collaborative digital environment which will benefit not only digital artists, but all artists working in mixed media, visual art, fine arts and many more across the nation.”

By using SeniVR platform, the art enthusiasts can engage in the artists’ artworks in a unique way, such as zooming in on the details, reading the descriptions and using the e-commerce features to directly connect with the curator to buy the artwork. Visitors can easily discover, appreciate, and purchase art from the comfort of home, giving them a preview before coming to Muzium Telekom for a visit, or providing an alternative if they are unable to physically be at the location. Through the upcoming Augmented Reality feature, art lovers would be able to preview selected artwork on the wall through their mobile.

“Virtual tour technology is our way of bridging the gap between local artists, art lovers and art collectors,” said Rachael Lum, Co-Founder of Actsugi.

“SeniVR offers an immersive tool for simultaneous online and offline presence, increased global reach, as well as opportunities for trend insights and analytics.”

SeniVR is set to expand its offering to 6 galleries for both permanent and temporary exhibitions. It will be integrated with the existing Muzium Telekom Virtual Tour, which allows people to visit the museum’s permanent exhibition virtually. SeniVR welcomes more local artists and curators from all backgrounds to be part of the collaborative space.
